Nutricartes® ethics

Sharing of cultures, a major asset against malnutrition, allows families from any country to be active in the improvement of their children’s health.

Many children in the world do not benefit from the diet and good care necessary for their physical and psychological development.

L’APPEL, in accord with the millenium objectives defined by the United Nations, has committed to working to « improve nutrition » (second objective) and to « allow all to live in good health » (third objective).

L’APPEL has developed a pedagogical tool (Nutricartes® Method) to fight against malnutrition, in partnership with the countries of the South where it is present.

This method is based on the following principles: :

  • To take into account the cultural and social identity of the populations to which we address ourselves ;
  • To implicate the beneficiaries (the families) by letting them participate actively in this training ;
  • To take into account, locally, the foods available and their cost ;
  • To insure a nutritional balance recognised by international authorities ;
  • To always combine simple teaching techniques of basic health and hygiene with the food cards ;
  • To comply with the guidelines defined by the country’s health policies.
